I’m SO excited! The new site is finally up and running — woohoo!
The past two weeks have been a bit crazy. I’ve been working hard to move the old blog over to its shiny new home. The project took way longer than I thought it would. But in the end, I’m thrilled with the result.
Many, many thanks go out to Cody over at Thrilling Heroics. He released his personal template for free, which made me a super happy girl. [And props to someone named Matt that answered all the questions I left in the comments as I attempted to learn code (um, sort of) and customize the site on my own.]
And the squid artwork at the top? That is thanks to an awesome artist. I love, love, love her work. Check it out: Dot D.
There are a few tweeks that I’ll be making over the coming weeks, but nothing major.
In the mean time, back to my writing! I’ve got a book calling my name and some exciting blog posts asking to be written.
What do you think of the new site?

Hey, I just recently came across your blog, so I don’t really know how to compare it to the last one. But I like this site a lot, very clean and easy to use…and the squid is pretty cool.
I like your refreshing new blog, HR! Epecially the new name.
I LOVE the new site! I am so impressed! Do you have any resource recomindations? I have kind of been thinking about starting my own domain with art for sale instead of using etsy (but a little scared of what is involved) give me the scoop!
@O.G. – So glad you like the site! Thank you!
@ Cafe – Thank you! So glad to see you at the new site!
@Christy – Thank you!! I’m so excited now that it’s up! You should definitely look into your own site – I think it’s definitely worth it. I’m using dreamhost for my domain. They have a super cheap intro special for $20 for the year, and I’ve talked to a few people that use them that are happy with the service. Bluehost also seems a popular choice. I totally suggest looking at the footer of websites you really like. There’s usually a link to the designer/source. That’s how I found mine. I’m happy to share anything else you have questions about!
It’s simple, not heavy on the eyes and the heading is very professional.
It looks awesome!! Really does. Can’t wait to follow your journey! Partly because I took a similar one, as you know
I’m so excited for you!
Walter, thanks for the comments on the blog – I really appreciate your feedback! I’ve been working hard to give it a clean professional look that looks like me – and it’s great to hear you like it.
Alexis – thank you!! I’m really excited for everything that’s ahead and I’m thrilled to share my journey – so glad to have you along for the ride!!
Heather, the site looks great! Thanks for using Thrilling theme and hanging out at TH! Sorry I wasn’t able to help out more directly, SWAAAMMPED with requests and questions, but I love my helpful community of users!
Thanks, Cody! I LOVE the theme. And your community over there – they are awesome – so seriously helpful!!
